DIVISION CHAMPS! June 18, 2007
Isabel won the tournament, making her team the division champions! They got a great big trophy! I will post pictures shortly!!!
Tournament Games… June 9, 2007
Jordan played his tournament game today. His team lost. They apparently had such a terrible ref who wasn’t paying attention. He kept asking the kids whether or not they caught the ball, etc.! Jordan’s coach was so mad he came close to being evicted off the field! Tom kept me updated since I was at Isabel’s game which went almost the same.
Isabel had 2 games today. Isabel had a penalty opportunity. It was between her and the goalie! She scored!!! The ref was a whole other story! We had the same ref for both games. In the first game, the opposing teams goal keeper was down injured and on her back. The ref kept calling the game to continue and all the parents were yelling!
At the second game Isabel was goal keeper. She saved a goal but some of the oppents (and some of our players too) kept kicking the ball out of her hands, (not leagal)!! The ball popped out and she leaped to retrieve it. The ball was infront of her face while they were kicking! She said it felt like her teeth were falling out of her mouth! Then the ball came loose and her hand got stepped on. She was bent over crying. The ref called for the game to keep playing all the while the parents (especially me) were yelling for the game to stop. We were yelling, “Injured Player!!! Stop the Game!!!” and he would respond, “play on”. What’s worse, the other team scored and he counted it! I just ran out of on the field to check on Isabel. I was so pissed, I called the assocaition director! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Isabel sat out for a quarter, then went in. Immediately after the wistle blew to start the game, she scored a goal! YIPPY! Well here’s Isabel’s team standing,
Game 1: Won 5-1 Game 2: Won 7-2
She’s going to the championships tomorrow! We have two games, 10am and 12pm. As for her finger, it’s swollen at the tip. We’re icing it periodically. She wants to play tomorrow so badly! Hopefully the swelling will go down, it doesn’t look too bad. Wish her luck!

Health Update May 23, 2007
Feeling just ok today. It always seems like something though! Since coming home from the hospital, I’ve been pretty nauseous. I “lost” my breakfast yesterday morning but felt better by the afternoon. I had my MRI on Monday.
I’ve been pretty forgetful lately too. I’m afraid the migraines have effected the part of my brain that holds my memory. No joke. I also have a hard time finding the words when I’m talking or typing. This was evident immediately after returning home from the hospital but even so now. It sucks, I feel like I’m 80 or something. I feel so old. I got really pissed off about it and started crying yesterday. I just want to feel better. But then I stopped feeling sorry for myself and took Victoria to her school picnic which was very fun! 
I don’t know. Tom suspects that I’m having small seizures or strokes rather than migraines. The pain is concentrated on the left side and I have a pins and needle sensation on my left hand when I have an episode. It’s scary to think about. We’ll soon find out. I’m seeing the neurologist on Friday.
So the neurologist put me on new meds and I can’t sleep. I’m in a horrible mood during the day because of it too. I just want to scream!! Anyway, if anyone has any information they’d like to share regarding migraines or strokes or the like, please let me know. I think I should educate myself rather than solely take the dr’s words (not that they don’t know what they’re doing because they do). I just think it’s important to be able offer suggestions to quickly get to the root of the problem. So far, it’s taken 10 years to get me to the point of a doctor suggesting an MRI. Even so, I was discouraged. I requested the MRI and asked my neurologist to write up a referral. It wasn’t until I was rushed to the hospital that he said I should have had it done! So you get it.
