Jordan is finished with Basketball and was it fun! I have some pictures and a video that I will be posting shortly. He was elected the Most Improved Player and was given the “game ball” during a ceremony with all the other teams. When you see the video, you’ll see how surprise he was! His coach was the best basketball coach he’s ever had, maybe even the best coach over all. He was very supportive.
As for Isabel, she’s doing great. Some of you may already know that other than a police officer and a rock star, one of her dreams when she grows up is to be an obstetrician. She recently went to a Family Life Education, (FLE) class where they learn the birds and the bees, and found out (in her words), “where babies come out”. Here’s how the conversation went when she came home:
Stomping into the kitchen with arms crossed, “Mom, I had FLE today and you know where they said babies come out?!”
“How did they say they come out Isabel?”, I asked
Pointing to her stomach, “here…”, then pointing a little lower, “and here.”
I said, “OK, do you have a question for me?”
Giving a big sigh, “Well, where did I come out?”, she asked
I give an even bigger sigh and told her. She then turned and ran upstairs yelling, “Jordan! Guess what?!!!”
Last week, we were eating dinner and talking about colleges. Isabel interrupts and said, “Even though I know where babies come out, I still want to be an Obstetrician.” That was such a great thing to hear!
FAST FORWARD TO TODAY: I forgot Isbel at school. She had an after school activity on Tuesdays and I totally forgot. Jordan runs up the stairs (at this point I’m 30 minutes late) and says, “Mom, are you aware that you are suppose to pick up Isabel?!”
And thus it begins, the parent becomes the child and vise versa! I guess it was suppose to happen at some point!
As the Dad, I officially have no comment. : )
