NOT ENOUGH TIME!… March 12, 2007

Why does it seem that right when you think you have things “rolling” and in it’s place, there’s not enough time to do everything else?

I started my new home business and it has me so busy.  I’ve worked on it for 3+ years and now that I have it going, I can’t seem to have enough time to fill orders and do laundry!  Yikes!  It’s been exciting though. 

Congrats to Colleen who had her first baby!  I’m about to see the pictures she sent Tom…I can’t wait to see them both!

Spring is almost here and the “sports rush” should begin in a week.  Both Isa and Victoria are in soccer and Jo is in football (flag).  Busy busy.  Drop off’s and pick ups will rule our lives for the next few months!  I told Tom, I’ll see him in the Summer when spring sports are finished!  HA HA HA!

Catching UP January 12, 2007

So far many things have taken place in just a few days of the New Year. We have new neighbors. The value of our house has officially gone down because of what our old neighbors sold their house for. It’s disgusting how they just settled but whatever.

In school, Isabel is getting tested for Special Ed classes.

Oh, also I had to rush Victoria to the hospital last Friday night. That was fun. Jordan was playing too rough and swung a flashlight and hit her on the forehead. The kids were upstairs and all I heard was Isabel screaming, “Oh my God. Oh my God.” That’s all she could say. Blood was all over Victoria’s face. Poor Isabel was in shock and didn’t say anything other than, “Oh my God” and stared at the wall.

So Tom stayed with Isabel and calmed her down. Jordan was banished to his room for the night, and I spent 3 hours at the ER. Luckily we had the option of using the “medical super glue” instead of stitches. That was a total relief. Victoria will have a scar but it’ll probably not be too bad. Isabel felt better after we called her from the hospital and she spoke to Victoria. Jordan is still grounded until next week. He was not allowed to play in his basketball game but we made him attend to show his team support.

Wow, what else can happen? It’s just January! What the hell else does 2007 have in store for us???!!!

Three Kings Day December 28, 2006

In my family, the Puerto Rican side we celebrate 3 Kings Day on January 6th. This is the day that the 3 Wise Men found Baby Jesus in the manger. On the eve of 3 Kings Day, the children in the house will leave 3 shoe boxes full of grass that they collect form their lawn and 3 cups of water; one for each Wise Man and their camels. This is to help nourish them along their journey to see Baby Jesus. They will leave these items either at the feet of their bed or in front of their bedroom door. In return, the 3 Wise Men will thank each child by leaving a gift after they’ve had their fill.

And so the tradition goes on in my family. On January 5th Jordan, Isabel and Victoria will be collecting grass and setting up cups of water before bed. It’s a wonderful tradition that helps our kids learn more about who they are and where they came from.

Victoria’s Class Party December 19, 2006

Victoria had her Christmas…uh..er..I mean “Holiday” Party at her preschool. Here are a few pictures!

HOLY CRAPOLA!!! December 16, 2006

Is it only 9 days until Christmas? WTF?! Why do we even do this every year with the gifts and the stress?!!? I’m so excited about Jenn’s idea of having the nieces and nephew’s gift giving after Christmas…when all the sales start. Can’t wait ’til ya’ll get here and we can celebrate! I just got a great recipe for “Spiced” hot cider, (with dark rum…yummmm!).

Ok so confession time. We haven’t bought gifts for anyone else yet except our own kids. Even that is an understatement! We still have to get Jordan’s list from him. I think he’s testing us. I may fail.

On a different note, I see that the Loudoun West Clan has commented on our site here. Thanks a bunch Amy and Steve! Maybe I can find a way to get you guys a site too and connect it with ours. So everyone can see what’s up with the Glancey’s here in VA! I’ll be working on that!
